Magic Mike was magical!

Beth and I decided we were long overdue for a girls night.  We decided to do dinner and a movie.  The movie was Magic Mike.  We were going to go to the 7:50 showing but, sadly it was sold out.  While we waited for the 10:30 showing we went to the Cheesecake factory for dinner.

Beth got some fancy corn tortilla thing:

I got a cobb salad (my all time fav salad):

After dinner we went back to the movie theater:

A little about the movie we saw:  Magic Mike came out this weekend.  Basically it's Channing Tatum as a stripper.

It was SO much fun.  I would estimate that the full theater was 95% ladies.  There was cat calling, hooting and cheering all throughout the movie.  It was SO much fun!  Yay for ladies nights with good friends!

What rocks? Sushi Rock!

Last time I was with Manders, she mentioned that Sushi Rock has 1/2 prices sushi on Wednesday evenings.  Where there's a deal, there's a Jnet!

We were promptly seated in the fancy upstairs portion of the resturant.  It had a beautiful view of the floor below.

We ordered lots of fancy sushi.  Manders ordered a Vegetable Roll and California Roll (Crab, Avacodo and Cream Cheese).

I ordered the Alaska Roll (salmon and Avocado) and California Roll (Crab, Avocado and Cream Cheese).

My bill for 12 delicious pieces of sushi was less than 7 dollars!!!  The food was almost as amazing as the company!!!  Over all, 2 thumbs up for an AH-MAZING meal!

From Anime to Shakespeare

Friday night was movie and pajama's night.  We all changed into our comfy pj's:
KW:

Mitch and Dom:

And me (blame KW for the poor picture quality):

We then settled in to watch The Secret World of Arrietty (movie chosen by KW)

It was pretty good as Anime's go.  They usually are not my cup of tea, but this one was worth watching.  After that I said we should watch "The Island":

But when we looked it up on netflix streaming, this came up and the boys decided we were going to watch this "The island" (Octob is russina for The Island I guess?).  I made it 10 minutes before promptly turning it off!

The next day we went shopping.  I recently bought a condo and KW bought a house (both have closing dates in July).  One of the most fun things about buying a new condo/house is the furniture shopping!  Here's a chair that we decided against since it made poor mitch look like a doll:

And then it was time to check out recliners:

We then went to Joann's to get yarn.  Mitch is an amazing crocheter, and promised KW a blanket for his new house.  While we were there we found the cutest little hats!

In the evening, KW and I went to see the shakespearian play As You Like It.  It was a free performance put on by the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival.  The play was at Notre Dame college in South Euclid:

I asked a lady there to take our picture and here's what happend:
Me:  Will you take our picture?
Lady:  Me?
Me:  Yes please?
Lady:  Oh, No, no, no.
And then she scampered off as quick as possible.

Back to they play:  It was SO good.  If you like quirky romances with cross dressing than this is the play for you!

I feel like we did pretty good considering we didn't start the weekend with having anything specific planned.

This Little Kitty went to the Market

Cleveland has a big market call West Side Market.  It has every type of food your heart could desire!  The outside of the market is fresh produce, while inside is where the meats, pasta and bakeries are found.

After buying a lot of fruits and vegetables, KW and I headed inside for meats!  The inside looks a lot like Philadelphia's reading terminal market.

One of the first things I saw when I walked into the West side Market was this:

After that I couldn't help but buyt fresh bacon (try not to be too jealous):

KW got some ground beef:

While KW bought salmon fillets, I took pics of the fancy green snails.

On the way back to dropping KW at home we saw that Lakewood was having a street fair, so we went and checked it out.  I was 9:45 am. and the fair didn't start till 10am, so it was pretty deserted.

At noon, Mitch, Dom and KW all met up at my new condo in North Olmsted.  The BEST part was how much Mitch loved the swings:

Stay tuned for more fun, action packed adventures in Cleveland!

Walnut Wednesdays

During the summer, Cleveland has something called Walnut Wednesdays.  Basically a bunch of food trucks get together on Walnut St., near a park where a live band plays.  I decided to round up my friends and check it out.

Manders works a block away from me and KW isn't too far from downtown.  We all met up at 9th and St. Claire and walked over to the food-truck-a-paloooza.  There were SO many people there.  Heck, I didn't know Cleveland HAD that many people!!

KW bought his ladies cupcakes from Sweet!  Mobile Cupcakery to start off Walnut Wednesdays (what a great guy right?).  I got a red velvet cupcake, Manders got a carrot cake cupcake, and KW got a Buckeye cupcake (peanut butter based??).

Then it was off to choose a food truck.  There were so many to choose from!  We finally picked one with a shorter line called The Nosh Box.  We all got something called the "Double Wide" which is a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon, but instead of cheese it has MAC AND CHEESE!!  So super yum!  Manders also ordered rosemary tatter tots for all of us to share.

We ate our fancy sandwiches while talking and listening to the live band.  Over all I would give the day a solid 2 thumbs up!

Our first Adventure!

Zocalo's in Cleveland has dollar taco night on Tuesday's.  Zocalo's is in downtown cleveland, less than a block from the House of Blues.

Jnet and friends is always down for cheap tacos.  What we weren't expecting was such delicious tacos!!!

We were met up by Leanne and her fiance (who were late and thusly, no pics).  Zocalo's was GREAT at keeping us full of chips and salsa, which is good because we were there from about 7 to 10 at night.

Here is Mitch contemplating what to get:
Mitch's husband Dom was also thinking long and hard about what delicious, delicious tacos to order

Kw obviously knew what he wanted!

And me, I was just enjoying the chips and salsa!  So yum!

At the end of the night we had all had a lot of tacos, chips and salsa, and laughter.  My bill was $6.75, which was beyond surprising considering how stuffed I felt at the end of the night!  Cheap tacos equal 2 thumbs up in my book!

Welcome to Jnet In cleveland

Let's start with a little introduction shall we?

Hello!  My name is Jeannette.  I recently (11 days ago), picked up and moved all the way from Philly to Cleveland to be with my gang of friends.  My friends and I plan on going on lots of fun adventures now that I'm in Cleveland!

Soon my friends and I will be starting an adventure club.  We will pick an adventure from a hat the weekend before and then jet off to our adventure!

The primary gang consists of 3 core members, but others will show up from time to time.

Michelle (Mitch for short) is my best friend and cohort in crime.  Her and her husband are pretty much the best people you will ever meet in your life.  Mitch is so adorable that cats can't help but cuddle her to death!

Dominic (Dom for short) is Mitch's husband and one of the smartest of the group.  He is also, handsdown, the best dressed of us all!

Ken Wilson (kw for short), is the other "single" in the group.  It's nice to not be the only one not married in the core group of friends!  Kw is a top contender for smartest in the group as he is always throwing interesting new facts our way (recently we learned about the wilhelm scream from kw)

I welcome you to join us on a fun filled, action packed adventure ride that starts right now!
